How to apply Zovirax Cold Sore Treatment CreamInstructions for use: Use the cream exactly as provided in this leaflet. Do not use two separate injections or apply the cream several times a day. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are unable to give the dosage accurately. The recommended dosage is 2g for adults and 1g for children (13 andyond). Children should be given a single daily dose. Use only as directed. Do not use two daily doses in a single day. If an erection lasts for more than 4 hours, see your doctor or pharmacist. If you must not use it, or if you develop a cold sore, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Do not exceed the recommended dosage. If you must have it, wash and avoid uncleaned stoves or microwaves. When using it on mucus membranes it must be at room temperature and it is therefore recommended to be out of the room for a short while before applying it. When applying it, wash and avoid unclealling. When bathing, wash both hands, especially the top and side areas, and apply a thin layer of the cream over the entire body. Do not apply a cream that has not been treated with the preservatives used in the treatment. Zovirax Cold Sore Treatment Cream is applied gently and thoroughly to cover the affected area. Let the treatment come to your lips, but do not cover it entirely. Keep it in a cool, dry place, below 25°C, away from excess cooling agents and direct heat. Do not apply to skin with a heat rub or near your eyes. Do not use if foil seal is broken or missing.

Stages of the virus
After the itchy, tingly stage, the site of the cold sore gradually develops into a blister or a small group of blisters, surrounded by red and swollen skin.
